Konzepte, Perspektiven und Grenzen von IMS Learning Design

Zusammenfassung

In der aktuellen E-Learning Diskussion ist Standardisierung ein wichtiges Thema. In diesem Zusammenhang wurde das Learning Objects Model (LOM) entwickelt. Von diesem Modell ist derzeit lediglich die Metadaten-Spezifikation zur Standardisierung durch die ISO vorbereitet. Neben den Metadaten beinhaltet das LOM aber auch Unterrichtsmaterialien und didaktische Konzeptionen. Die Educational Modelling Language (EML) und ihre Weiterentwicklung in Zusammenhang mit der IMS Learning Design (IMS LD) bemühen sich um eine Formalisierung und Vereinheitlichung der didaktischen Konzeption. Dieser Artikel beleuchtet abseits von technischen Details drei Aspekte des Erwartungshorizonts von IMS LD: (1) Den Zusammenhang von IMS LD zu anderen bestehenden E-Learning Standards. (2) Die Möglichkeiten von IMS LD für die Qualitätssicherung computerunterstützten Unterrichts.

Abstract

Standardization is a major topic in the recent e-learning discussion. In this context the Learning Objects Model (LOM) was developed. Currently only the metadata specification is prepared for standardization by the ISO. Apart from the Metadata LOM includes learning material and educational concepts as well. The Educational Modelling Language (EML) and its followup project at the IMS, Learing Design (IMS LD) intend to formalize and unify the process of educational conception. Leaving technical aspects aside this article focuses on three aspects in the scope of IMS LD: (1) The relation of IMS LD to other standardization efforts in the area of e-learning. (2) Potential of IMS LD in quality ashurance for e-learning.
