History of e-learning

I stumbled across something interesting. I was wondering about the first occurrence of the term e-learning. So I did a small web-research, because wikipedia was not really helpful. According to the search engine of IEEE, the first occurrence of "e-learning" was in June 2000 this interview in ACM's ubiquity. I doubt that this interview was really the first use of the term.

Thanks to Andreas, I noticed that Jay Cross published a article with the title "eLearning" in ASTD's "Training + Development" magazine. This article was published in November 1999. Unfortunately, this article is not available online any more (at least according to Google Scholar), so this cannot be confirmed.
